So Far, Arkansas Adoption Ban Lacks Required Signatures
Supporters of a proposed ballot measure that would prohibit unmarried Arkansans "cohabiting with a sexual partner" from adopting or foster parenting have, so far, not gathered enough signatures to place the measure on this November's ballot. However, they have been given additional time (until August 22) to gather the necessary signatures. Arkansas Families First is leading opposition to the discriminatory ballot measure, which proposes a statutory, not constitutional, ban.
