Director of Oscar-Nominated Documentary to Appear on XM Radio Show "The Agenda with Joe Solmonese."

WASHINGTON - One of the directors of a documentary about a New Jersey police officer who spent the last year of her life fighting to get pension benefits for her same-sex partner will appear on the next episode of "The Agenda with Joe Solmonese." "Freeheld" has been nominated for an Oscar in the documentary short category. Cynthia Wade will be featured on the Monday, January 28th show, which airs on XM Radio Channel 120 at 6 p.m. EST.

"We are so pleased to feature Cynthia Wade on the show next week," said Human Rights Campaign President and "Agenda" host Joe Solmonese. "Her moving film is a testament to the importance of the fight for full equality in the workplace and legal recognition of loving, committed same-sex relationships."

"Freeheld" tells the story of Detective Lieutenant Laurel Hester, who, while dying of lung cancer, fought to win death benefits for her partner Stacie Andree. The benefits were refused because Lt. Hester and Stacie were gay and could not be legally married in New Jersey.

"The Agenda with Joe Solmonese" airs on Mondays from 6 - 8 p.m. EST on XM Radio Channel 120. Audio archives and further information about the show can be found at www.hrc.org/TheAgenda.
