Summary: This resolution proposes a constitutional amendment to be submitted to voters providing that “only a union between one man and one woman shall be valid or recognized as a marriage” in Illinois. The amendment would further provide that “This State and its political subdivisions shall not create or recognize a legal status similar to that of marriage.”
