This bill would prohibit public elementary and middle schools from providing any instruction or materials discussing sexual orientation other than heterosexuality.

This bill would permit health care providers not to participate in a health care service that "violates the conscience" of the provider.

Rhode Island HB 7081

This bill would provide that any marriage recognized in any state or possession of the United States is eligible for a divorce proceeding in Rhode Island, regardless of whether the marriage is recognized in Rhode Island, so long as the parties meet jurisdictional requirements.

This bill would permit intersex individuals to amend their birth certificates after the age of 16 to reflect their gender identity (physician’s statement required stating that the person was born intersex).

This bill would permit a "wrongful death designee" who has had "mutual supportive and dependent relationship with the decedent and is designated as the sole wrongful death heir in decedent’s will, trust or other notarized written directive to bring a wrongful death action in the event of their partner’s death.

This bill would extend all spousal benefits to state employee’s domestic partners.

Wisconsin SB 400

This bill requires each school board providing abstinence-only education to give parents or guardians notice of such education, including notice that the education does not teach student how to prevent sexually transmitted diseases, other than by remaining abstinent, and that a student may be excused from abstinence-only education without penalty.

Illinois H.B. 1331

This bill would permit teachers to designate domestic partners who would be eligible to receive survivor and death benefits through the state pension system in the same manner as a surviving spouse.
