Many U.S. employers have written non-discrimination or equal employment opportunity policies that prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, sex, color, religion, national origin, age, disability and other categories.
The Human Rights Campaign Foundation developed the following guidelines as best current practices for employers and their transgender employees, particularly employees who are beginning or who are in the process of transitioning on the job.
This document is intended to delineate workplace guidelines for addressing the needs and issues that arise in the workplace when a transgender person transitions on the job at the firm.
