Alabama HB 90/SB 109
Summary: This bill, the Teen Suicide and Violence Protection Act, would require local school systems to adopt a policy prohibiting harassment motivated by "any characteristic", including sexual orientation, or motivated by association with an individual who falls into a protected category.
Status: On February 14, 2008, HB 90 passed the House by a 95-0 vote. SB 109 is pending in the Senate Education Committee.
