HRC Celebrates 2009 National Adoption Month
November is National Adoption Month, an opportunity to celebrate adoptive families, to educate the broader community about the adoption experience, and to raise awareness of the 130,000 children and youth who are waiting for a permanent family.
Adoption is a common path for LGBT parents and to ensure our families are included in the celebration; the HRC Family Project is celebrating National Adoption Month through our “Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Family” blog series and web chat.

Life, Liberty & the Pursuit of Family
Earlier this year, HRC launched an adoption awareness campaign, “Life, Liberty & the Pursuit of Family,” to raise awareness within the LGBT community of opportunities to adopt from foster care. Over 100,000 children in the U.S. are waiting to be adopted. Each one deserves to be part of a loving, accepting family. We can be those families.
