Nebraska hate crimes law does not explicitly address gender identity-motivated violence. R.R.S. Neb. § 28-111 (2002). The hate crime law extends to categories of "race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age or disability." As yet Nevada has not addressed gender identity-based violence under these provisions of the hate crimes law.

Nebraska hate crimes law explicitly addresses sexual orientation. R.R.S. Neb. § 28-111 (2002). A hate crime victim may bring a civil action for equitable relief, general and special damages, reasonable attorney's fees and costs. R.R.S. Neb. § 28-113 (2002).
