Protects transgender students? Not Explicitly
No provision of Georgia state law explicitly addresses gender/gender identity-based violence or other similar issues under the safe schools law. However, Georgia has an anti-bullying and harassment provisions which generally apply to all middle and high school students.  O.C.G.A. § 20-2-751.4 (2010)

Protects gay and lesbian students? Not Explicitly
No provision of Georgia state law explicitly addresses sexual orientation-based violence or other similar issues under the safe schools law. However, Georgia has an anti-bullying and harassment provisions which generally apply to all middle and high school students.  O.C.G.A. § 20-2-751.4 (2010)

In addition, Georgia has a general school safety provision that provides students with a "safe school environment . . . without fear of violence or intimidation." The code specifies only that students shall not be refused admission into or excluded from any public school on account of race, creed, color or national origin. O.C.G.A. § 20-2-131 (2001)
