Maryland Donor Insemination Law
Maryland does not clearly address access to donor insemination for unmarried women.
State inheritance law defines artificial insemination in the context of marriage and declares a resulting child legitimate if both spouses consented to the procedure. The state prevents doctors or hospitals from being required to perform artificial insemination, along with other reproductive-related procedures. However, the law does not prohibit them from performing these procedures.
