Protects transgender students? No
Maryland law requires that county school boards report incidents of harassment and intimidation against students that are motivated by “actual or a perceived… gender identity.” MD. CODE ANN. [Education] §7-421. 

Protects gay and lesbian students? No
Maryland law requires that county school boards report incidents of harassment and intimidation against students that are motivated by “actual or a perceived… sexual orientation.” Maryland regulations state that public school students, regardless of sexual orientation, have the right to educational environments that are safe and free from harassment. MD. CODE ANN. [Education] §7-421.  MD. REGS. CODE. tit. 13A§01.04.03
