Protects transgender students? Not Explicitly
No provision of Massachusetts law explicitly addresses gender identity-based violence or discrimination in schools. MASS. ANN. LAWS ch. 76, § 5 (2002). However, Massachusetts law prohibits bullying and cyberbullying against all students without enumerating protected categories. MASS. GEN. LAWS ch. 71, § 370 (2010)

Massachusetts safe school law explicitly addresses sexual orientation. "No person shall be excluded from or discriminated against in admission to a public school of any town, or in obtaining the advantages, privileges and courses of study of such public school" on account of sexual orientation. MASS. ANN. LAWS ch. 76, § 5 (2002). In addition, Massachusetts law prohibits bullying and cyberbullying without enumerating protected categories. MASS. GEN. LAWS ch. 71, § 370 (2010)
