Louisiana Donor Insemination Law
Louisiana law appears to allow donor insemination of unmarried women, but also implies that physician supervision is required.
The state prohibits physicians from using fresh semen samples and mandates HIV testing of frozen samples. The law exempts semen provided by a husband for insemination of his wife, indicating that the law takes into consideration the insemination of unmarried women.
There is no provision of Louisiana law regarding the legal rights of a donor.
