Presbyterian Church Votes ‘Yes’ to Lesbian Clergy
Despite heavy opposition and two previous denials, the San Francisco Presbytery voted 167-151 to pass Lisa Larges, an open lesbian, on toward ordination. This landmark decision is the first showcase of a 2006 policy in which the national Presbyterian church allows local presbyteries to have more freedom in the ordination of LGBT clergy.
