North Dakota Birth Certificate Law: Gender Identity Issues

The state registrar of North Dakota law permits a post-operative transsexual to amend his or her birth records upon receipt of a court order verifying that the individual has had a legal name change and a physician’s affidavit verifying that sex-reassignment surgery has occurred.
