Corporate Equality Index: Why are questions new or updated in the survey?
Each year, the Corporate Equality Index survey (available as an appendix in each year's report) is updated to capture practices that the Human Rights Campaign Foundation and the HRC Business Council have identified as emerging or positive trends in workplace equality for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees.
Will these questions become part of the Corporate Equality Index Rating Criteria?
In some cases, these questions may be considered for future criteria for the CEI.
However, the many of these questions and the data that is gathered is used for informational and reporting purposes only. We find that businesses in different sectors or of a particular size may behave differently than others; sometimes what works for one business may not be feasible or appropriate for another.
