Human Rights Campaign Foundation, 2004
This poll, conducted online by Harris Interactive for the HRC Foundation, found that 56 percent of respondents ranked "equal rights for gay and lesbian Americans" as one of the top three issues in the 2004 elections. The poll also found that an overwhelming majority of GLBT adults – 87 percent – said they are registered voters. Large majorities also reported that they voted in the 2000 and 2002 elections (81 percent and 74 percent, respectively).
