Welcomed Into the House of God
For several years like many young men and women throughout the world I fought myself tooth and and nail about my sexuality and its true place in my life. When I finally accepted the inevitable, I still had to deal with my lifestyle and my faith. I wondered constantly to myself, even though I am a good person, would I be allowed to enter into the kingdom of heaven beacuse I am man who loves men? On the Sunday of the annual pride parade I decided to go to service instead of attending the festivities. I will never regret that day. The Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Wright Jr. stood in the pulpit and made a comment about gay men and women that blew my socks off. The comment was in no way typical of a minister... at that moment I knew I was welcomed into the House of God
