Hawaii Birth Certificate Law: Gender Identity Issues
Issues a new or amended birth certificate? Yes.
The Department of Health of Hawaii will issue a new birth certificate to a post-operative transsexual upon receipt of a physician’s affidavit verifying that the birth registrant has undergone sex-reassignment surgery.
