Iowa Birth Certificate Law: Gender Identity Issues

Issues a new or amended birth certificate? Yes.
The state registrar of Iowa will issue a new birth certificate to a transsexual individual who has undergone sex-reassignment surgery upon receipt of an affidavit from a physician verifying that the individual’s sex has been changed.
